Labour’s Safer Neighbourhood Team Making Sure your Street is Safer

Labour Council candidate Jack Hopkins met with the Oval Safer Neighbourhood police team and local community activists to raise concerns over crime and anti-social behaviour across the Oval ward.

The group discussed the actions that the local Police are doing to make the whole ward safe, in particular
Wilcox Road and Wyvil Estate, South Lambeth Estate and the Kennington Park Estate. The dispersal zone has been successful so far in moving on trouble makers on Dorset Road but the Police are going to continue working with local residents and shopkeepers to make sure they don’t come back.

Jack also raised the concern of Ashmole Estate residents’ about school children causing mischief at lunch time and after school. The local Police team have promised to look into it and assess whether they can put on extra patrols.

Labour’s Safer Neighbourhood Team reassess the key local priorities every three months so get in touch and let us know about your top priorities so Labour can make your concerns are dealt with.

You can contact the Safer Neighbourhood Team directly on 07747790001 but still call 999 if there is a crime taking place and you need an urgent response.
